Mr. Phillip Jerome Brown, age 64 of McDonough, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019, surrounded by his family, who he loved more than anything. He was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Young Hiram and Willene Johnson Brown. Phillip is survived by his wife: Debbie Brown; children: Tabatha Brown Johns and Terry Brown; beloved grandchildren: Brady Johns and Brandon Lee Johns; siblings: Sylvia Cheney, Brenda Williams, Charles Brown and Sandra Stargel; and a host of many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers: Donald Brown and Arthur Ray Brown. Phillip graduated from Forest Park Senior High School in ’72 and later on became a minister. He was a gifted artist, specializing in wood carving. Phillip was a talented musician who taught himself to play many instruments and was a wonderful gospel singer. When Phillip, wasn’t playing guitar or singing, he enjoyed relaxing by fishing. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Unity Baptist Church in Stockbridge, GA. An urn burial will take place at a later date in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in College Park, GA.
