

Mr. Ray Frank Hooper, age 78, of McDonough, GA passed away May 6, 2014. Mr. Hooper was born in Charlotte, NC the son of the late Worth Bagley and Marie Black Hooper. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Pearson Hooper; sons, Lynn Smith and Larry Ray Hooper; and a grandson, Joshua Brunson. Mr. Hooper enjoyed being around family and friends, hunting, fishing, The Atlanta Falcons, The Atlanta Braves, and NASCAR. He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to people. He retired from Delta Air Lines as a machinist and after his retirement worked at Indian Springs State Park in the entrance meeting and greeting people. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro and served his country in the US Air Force. Survivors are his children, Lonnie Smith of Marietta, Sheena Myers (Ralph) of McDonough, David Kelley (Sandy) of McDonough, Linda Brunson of Marietta, and Rocky Kelley (Laura) of Nashville, TN; 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; sister, Mary Lee Hooper Stegall of Virginia and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mr. Hooper will be Saturday, May 10, 2014 – 2:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Kelley officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Cemetery in Fairburn. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 – 8:00 Pm.
