

Richard Edward “Rick” Kosior, age 63, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022. He was born in Middletown, NY on December 22, 1958 to Ignatius Jr. and Patricia Kosior. Rick had a true heart of gold and a love for serving others. He had a lifelong passion for the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or simply tending to his meticulously maintained yard and spending time with his beloved dogs. Rick graduated from S.S. Seward Institute in Florida, NY in 1976, Paul Smith's College in Saranac Lake, NY in 1978 and The University of Florida in 1980, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying. He moved to Georgia in 1982 and worked for W.L. Jorden for 17 years and then APAC Construction until 2008. Since 2008, Rick was a surveyor for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He was involved in several major construction projects in the area, including Hartsfield-Jackson Airport expansions and the I-85 “Spaghetti Junction” interchange. Along with his parents, Ignatius and Patricia, Rick is survived by his brothers, Charles (Barbara) Kosior of Mooresville, NC and Anthony (Cindi) Kosior of Marietta, GA, nephews, Vince, Collin (Lydia) and Kyle. The family will greet friends from 2:00pm - 5:00pm on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Haisten Funeral Home, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, South, McDonough, GA 30253. The Funeral Mass for Rick will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church,1000 GA-155 N, McDonough, GA 30252. Burial will follow at Honey Creek Woodlands, 2625 GA-212, Conyers, GA 30094. Please make a donation, in lieu of flowers, to your favorite charity.
