Mr. Robert Earl “Pete” Foster, age 71, of McDonough, GA transitioned to eternal life April 2, 2018. Robert was born in, Jackson, TN, the son of the late Robert Foster and the late Annie Lue Billings Foster. He was also preceded in death by two sisters Betty Joe Starks and Ann Marie Chandler.
Robert graduated from Merry High School in Jackson, TN. He proudly served in the United States Army where he fought in the Vietnam War. Upon receiving an Honorable Discharge, Robert attended Northrop University in Englewood; CA. where he received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering. Mr. Foster retired as an entrepreneur from FedEx Logistics, along with working as a Corporate Airline Pilot and Certified Dog Trainer. He enjoyed flying; movies, training dogs, air shows, hunting, scratch off lottery tickets and spending time with family and friends. Robert also loved traveling, and was blessed to travel to Cancun, Mexico this past February. Because of his bubbly personality and his love for people, he served as the Home Owner Association, Vice President, of The Woods of Lake Dow Subdivision.
Robert was a Born Again Christian, dedicated to serving God by serving people. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA with Dr. Charles Stanley for nine years where he served as an Usher. He relocated his membership to Abundant Mercy Christian Church International, McDonough, GA, where Pastor Robert Howard, Jr. is the Sr. Pastor. There he served as an Usher and was ordained as a Deacon in November, 2017.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie Foster of McDonough, GA; children, Robert Earl Foster, Jr. (Manya), Alexis Mayes (Paxton), Jered Foster (Sandy), Andrea Ellison, Jay Nicolson, Justin Thomas (Lanedra) and Jessyca Dorn; siblings, David Foster (Donna), Garland Lyons (Patricia), Bessi Pegues, Ramona Lyons, Gregory Foster, Shirley Hargrove (Earl), and Sandra White. Robert had many nieces and nephews and had a special relationship with nephews Drummond Cordell Lyons (Stacey) and Darren Chandler (Tamara) and many loving relatives and friends.
A Homecoming Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Howard Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
