Celebrating the life of Robert who was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 7, 1981, to Christine and Robert A. Lyons. At a young age he was baptized and attended Mt. Hope AME Church. Robert attended Houston County Schools and graduated in 2003. An avid sports lover, Robert was always ready for the next adventure. During his formative years, his participation in various sports helped him cultivate a host of lifelong friendships. These bonds endured through the years, often centered around a shared love for video games: especially spirited sessions of Call of Duty with "the guys."
Robert was a devoted brother who shared an incredible bond with his siblings. He spoke to his brother, Brian, every day; he was more than just a younger brother, Brian was his best friend. Lisa held a unique place in his heart as his first "ride-or-die," and stayed a devoted sister, while his loving sister Kim would always show up when it mattered most with no hesitance. Later in life, Robert discovered a passion for gardening and landscaping, a hobby inherited from his father that sparked a friendly, ongoing competition with his neighbors for the best lawn.
The heart Mrs. Christine poured into raising Robert, taught him to cherish family above all else, molding him into the exceptional father and husband we knew him to be. This legacy lives on through his sons today; a testament to the man he became and the mother he whole-heartily adored. From Leon, Robert mirrored a reserved nature that reflected his steady demeanor as he grew into manhood.
In his mid-twenties, Robert moved to Arizona, where he became known as "Mega Don," establishing himself as one of the region's premier entertainment promoters. He worked with legendary artists and comedians including Kendrick Lamar (K.Dot), Lil Wayne, Kid Ink, E-40, Eddie Griffin, Shawty-Shawty, Marlon Da Gr8, August O’Neil, and many others across the industry.
In 2008, Robert met the love of his life and future wife, Cheraire. Robert and Cheraire were married sealing their commitment in a beautiful fall wedding in 2010, building a life centered around their children: Roddres and Cherod, and welcoming Xavier in the summer of 2011. After relocating to Marietta, GA in 2012, the family eventually settled in Conyers, where they firmly planted their roots. A devoted father at his core, Robert was a constant in his sons’ lives: whether traveling practices, or cheering at games, or attending school functions, he was “Pops” the father his sons could always count on.
He and Cheraire shared a love story that felt cinematic: he was her sunshine, and she was his light. Their union was more than a marriage it was built of a bond of friendship, trust, respect, and an energy of love so strong it could be felt by anyone in their presence. That energy was palpable, leaving a legacy of a family bond forever in light and love. Theirs was a true, unwavering, and unconditional bond, leaving a mark on his family that time can never erase. Robert loved spending time with his family, traveling and going to his favorite vacation spot, Mission Beach, San Diego, CA. He enjoyed having a good time, creating positive vibes, being around great people, and creating memories. He also appreciated the finer things in life, often finding his peace and inspiration in quiet moments of relaxation.
Robert is preceded in death by his father Robert A. Lyons, brother Tyler, Mother-in-law Marie Mitchell-Brantley (James), and Father-in-law Steve Mitchell, grandparents Lourane and Willie J Owens.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Cheraire Lyons, beloved children Roddres (Ceiarra), Cherod, and Xavier, loving mother Christine (Leon), Valerie Woods, devoted sisters Lisa Dent, Kimberly (Milton) Williams, Lekeylia Key, dedicated brother Brian (Krystal) Lyons, In-Laws Larry Williams, Montez, Steven and Tracy, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family requests live plants instead of cut flowers.
