In 1983, Sam and Dorothy moved from Wyandotte, Michigan to McDonough Georgia. In 1985 they became members of Oakland Baptist Church. Sam served the Lord at Oakland as Sunday School Director for ten years, and as a member of the “Oakland Heirs” quartette for several years. He was part of two mission teams, one to Alaska and one to Costa Rica. Sam loved the Lord and his church family. Before the pandemic, he could be counted on to have a handshake or the special Mr. Sam hug for adults and to have a piece of candy in his pocket for the children. In recent years church attendance was curtailed by his physical condition. Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Oakland Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
