Stella Beatrice Carter, 86, was born and raised in the community of Klondike, GA. She is a graduate of Lithonia High School where she was a star basketball player. She was also voted the most witty in her senior class. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Avondale for 57 years where she worked with babies and children for many years. Currently she was a member of Salem Baptist Church, McDonough. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Harold Carter, of McDonough. Also survived by children Cynthia Gail Barnes (Larry) of Lawrenceville and Douglas Harold Carter (Marsha) of McDonough. Five grand children, Shanna Gail Crane (Josh), Brittany Amanda Barnes, Douglas Harold Carter, Jr., Hayley Anne Jackson (Sam), and Brandon Myles Barnes. One Great Grand Child, Harold James Farley. Two sisters, Joann Carter and Joyce Mitchell both of Conyers. Visitation will be at Haisten Funeral Home, McDonough at 2:30 – 4:30 pm Sat. 5/28/16. Funeral at Salem Baptist Church, McDonough at 2:00 pm Sun. 5/29/16. Family will receive guests at 1:15 pm before the funeral on Sunday at the Church.
