Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Merle Manders, and his sister, Susan Dickey. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mindy Manders; his two daughters, Merritt (Chris) Wigley and Morgan (Spencer) Lauderdale; his three grandchildren Charlotte, Whitfield and Wyatt; and several beloved family members and friends.
Steve was a devoted family man and a respected baseball umpire who proudly officiated the College World Series three times-an achievement that reflected his dedication and love for the game. He was a lifelong public servant who worked for the State of Georgia for 38 years while working his way up to Deputy Insurance Commissioner. He enjoyed spending his free time golfing, fishing, and making memories with his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
