Steven Michael McKool

Steven Michael McKool, age 63, of McDonough, Georgia passed peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023. He was born in Atlanta, GA where he lived out his life. He was a son, brother, father, Papa, amateur comedian, die-hard Republican, and all around good guy. He spent the majority of his working career in various managerial roles where he crafted a reputation for being a dedicated leader and a faithful friend. Steve prided himself on being the loudest in a room, finding joy in making everyone laugh. A few of Steve's favorite things were pretty women, cheap beer, history documentaries, crude humor, gardening, political rants, long gossiping phone calls with his mother, and old movies. But his favorite thing of all was his family. He is survived by his parents David McKool, Sara (Gittens) McKool; siblings Gregory McKool, Lisa McKool; children Rachel (Matthew) Little, David (Blanca) McKool, Richard McKool (Ashley Cousins); grandchildren Ryan Little, Mason Little, Barrett Little, Charlotte McKool, Violet McKool and, of course, his favorite nephew Nickolas McKool, as well as many other beloved family members & friends. Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In honor of Steve, the family has asked attendees to wear a flannel shirt.
