Theresa Catherine Giambalvo

Mrs. Theresa Catherine Giambalvo, age 88 of Stuart, Florida passed away January 3, 2015. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Robert Emmett and Mary Agnes Walsh Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jack James Giambalvo and her daughter, Cecelia Boan. Theresa was retired from the City of Jupiter, Florida and was a parishioner of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Vero Beach, Florida and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson, Georgia. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Indian River Hospital. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was an avid reader, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching the Golden Girls and John Wayne movies. Survivors include her sons, Jon Giambalvo of Woodstock, Georgia and Joe (Mary) Giambalvo of Stuart, Florida; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; sisters, Martha Wells, Patty Eames, Elsie Bassett, Sister Rita Smith and Marie Wood. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson, Georgia. Friends may visit the family Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
