

A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son and brother, Thomas Franklin Archer, 90, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born in his family home on March 29, 1935 in Key West, Florida. He graduated from Palm Beach High School in 1954. Tom married his sweetheart, Pat Therber in 1958 and was married for 62 years. He was in the US Air Force 1957 - 1965 as a Senior Airman, Admin Specialist where he received the Good Conduct Medal and an Honorable Discharge. He was very proud of his 30 years working for the Civil Service as a Main Frame Database Programmer. Tom loved the Lord and was a devout Christian.Throughout his life,he enjoyed church, his family, carpentry, camping, square dancing, the company of his dogs, and going out to eat.
He is survived by his sons: John WIlliam Archer (Rene), Jeffrey Thomas Archer (Amy), Joseph Alex Archer (Tiffney); grandchildren: Melissa Archer, Trynna Archer, Christopher Archer, Michael Archer (Candace), Stephanie Ferrell (Stephen), Jon McFarland (Steve), Tye Archer, Joseph Alex Archer; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: William Franklin and Ruth Mayfield Sands Archer; siblings: William Robert and Rose Marie; wife: Patricia Therber Archer; son: James Franklin Archer; grandson: Douglas Ryan Archer; and daughter-in-law: Tina Idiaquez Archer
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, May 19, 2025 at East Lawn Memorial Park in McDonough, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
