

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vanessa Heaffner, who left us peacefully on March 20th, 2025. She was the eldest daughter of the late Bobby and Mary Barber. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Vanessa will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Vanessa is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Heaffner; daughters, Michelle (Bryan) Grice and Brandy (Bobby) Fair; grandchildren, Kalin Felix, Kyla Felix, Austin (Shaine) Grice, Abigail Grice, and Allden Grice; great-grandchild, Kyler Grice; siblings, Robert (Judy) Barber and Claudette Wilson; and Aunt, Nancy (Raymond) Denny. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and beloved cousins.
Vanessa had a deep love for the beach, where she found peace and joy. Some of her happiest moments were spent laughing with family and friends by the shore, creating lasting memories and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Her laughter and bright spirit will always be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to share in those joyful moments.
A celebration of life will be held on March 26th, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, with the service following at 2:00 PM, at Haisten Funeral Home, 1745 S. Zack Hinton Pkwy, McDonough, GA 30253. All are welcome to join us as we honor and celebrate Vanessa's remarkable life. Interment will be held at Eastlawn Memorial Park on 650 McGarity Rd., McDonough GA. 30252.
