Born on January 6, 1941, Warren was the son of the late James Eldred Davis and Jewell (Thurston) Davis. After graduating from McDonough High School with the Class of 1959, he proudly served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Newport, Rhode Island—where he would meet the woman who would become his wife. Following his military service, Warren went on to have a 22 year career with Eastern Airlines until its closing. Dedicated to community and fellowship, Warren was a proud member of Ringgold Lodge No. 90 for 50 plus years.
Warren was an avid golfer—known for many years as a true “scratch” player—and a loyal fan of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the Atlanta Braves, and the Atlanta Falcons, a reflection of his unwavering loyalty and tenacity. Most of all, he was the proudest supporter of any team his children or grandchildren played on. His familiar presence at baseball, football, basketball, and volleyball games will be remembered by many.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Patricia Diane Lisker Davis. Warren is survived by their children: Kerrie Ward (Bill), Susan McCullers (Eddie), and Eric Davis (Kristi), all of Locust Grove. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Lindsey, Brett (Lyndsay), Zach (Emilee), Sydney (Dallas), Bailey (Colton), Reagan, Billy, Autumn, and A.J.; and his great grandchildren: Lila, Maddyn, Corbin, Drake, Landyn, Sadie, Hunter, Clara and Carson; and his siblings: Benida Helms, Bill Davis, Jim (Linda) Davis, Clayton (Cheryl) Davis and Betty Lynn (Fred) Purcell;
A celebration of Warren’s life will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Locust Grove United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that held a special place in his heart for many years. Arrangements are being handled by Haisten Funerals & Cremations in McDonough GA.
