

William "Billy" Jefferson Henderson, Jr., age 91, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024. He was born to the late William and Mary Henderson in Meridian, MS on July 4, 1932. He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Dorothy Henderson of 59 years and Mrs. Glenda Nail Henderson of 12 years. He was also preceded in death by two sisters. Billy was a beloved man and he loved everyone, as well. For most of his life, he was a Long-Haul truck driver and in retirement drove a dump truck in Henry County which he dearly loved. He loved the people as well as the work itself. He was a sports enthusiast and everyone knew how he felt about his beloved ALABAMA Crimson Tide. He had various hobbies from tinkering with watches and small engines to making and collecting pocket knives which he loved to give as gifts. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in McDonough which he dearly loved and proudly served as a past deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Henderson was also a Mason. Mr. Henderson is survived by his children, Ginger Wilson, Melanie (Bill) Ullrich, Marsha Baker, Vicky (Dennis) Palmer, and Penny (Gary) Kelley. Grandsons, Todd (Randi) Wascom, Timothy (Chelsie) Wascom, Jeremy Wilson, and Jesse Wilson. His great, grandchildren, Tylar (Ashleigh) Wascom, Lyndsey (TJ) Sutton, Jackson Wascom, Millie Wascom & Andrew Wascom, Asher and Levi Wascom, Kaleb Wascom, and Alex and Ainsley Cross. His great-great-grandchildren Evan and Addie Sutton, Emma, Tucker, Beau, and Colt Wascom, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Bethany Baptist Church. The family will greet friends at 1:00 pm before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
