

Buck was born on August 24, 1945, in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He proudly served in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. After his military service, Buck worked as a truck driver until his retirement, after which he spent his days enjoying time with his family—something he cherished deeply.
William lived a long life marked by strength, resilience, and the experiences that shaped him over eight decades. He will be remembered by all who knew him and the life he lived.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Selina Stevenson, his son, Randall Lee Floyd, and his siblings Connie Keever and Steve Walker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy Floyd; his two sons, William “Buck” Floyd Jr. (Melody Petty) and Scott Floyd (Lori Floyd); his grandchildren, Jordan Floyd (Tayler Dawsey), Savannah Floyd, Tiffany Floyd, Chandler Chambers, Nathan Floyd, Kylee Petty, and Autumn Noles; and his great-grandchildren, Paisley Floyd and Presley Floyd; his sister Lola Blackwell and two nephews Kevin Blackwell and Barry Blackwell.
To know Buck was to know an amazing man. His laugh was contagious, and his presence brought joy to those around him. He will truly be missed.
Visitation will be held at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, located at 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253, on February 5, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Celebration of Life will follow in the Haisten Chapel, starting at 1:00 pm. Following services a Committal will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Park, 640 McGarity Rd, McDonough, GA 30252, on February 5, 2026.
