William Armour Nix Jr.

Mr. William Armour Nix, Jr., age 65 of McDonough, Georgia passed away January 22, 2015. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late William Armour Nix, Sr. and Fannie Lou Peppers Nix. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Nix. Bill enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching Westerns, listening to old country music and AM 1410. Bill was known as “Red” to his co-workers at General Motors where he worked for eighteen years. Survivors include his wife, Diane Nix of McDonough; sons, Billy (Lisa C.) Nix of McDonough, Jeff (Amanda) Nix of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Catie Nix, Dillon Nix, Camryn Nix, Sydney Austin, Autumn Biles, Cole Austin, Jaden Wicks and Brycen Wicks; sisters, Carol Case of Locust Grove, Nancy Nix Lynn (David) of Snellville; nephew, Brad Boyd and other family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Pastor Danny Gentry will officiate. Friends may visit the family Saturday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the National Kidney Foundation in memory of Bill.
