Mr. Willie Deweese Smith, age 86, of McDonough, GA passed away June 9, 2014. Mr. Smith was born in Lumber City, GA the son of the late Eula Sanford and James Douglas Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shelvia Jeannings Smith; son, William Deweese Smith Jr. “Billy”; and siblings, Frank and Phillip Smith, and Myrtie Greene. Mr. Smith enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading his Bible, fishing and being an inventor. He was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and the Forest Park Masonic Lodge. Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and John Price of Stockbridge; siblings, Wylene Clark (Calvin), Runnel Elton; nephews, Robert Clark (Wanda) and Karl Elton (Linda). Funeral service for Mr. Smith will be Thursday, November 12, 2014 – 1:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens following the service.
