

Bertice Bryant Ross February 13th, 1926 – January 20th, 2015. Bertice Bryant Ross, 88 of Pasadena Texas passed away on January 20th, 2015. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00PM on Friday January 23rd 2015 at Cole Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Cole Funeral Home on Saturday January 24th 2015 at 3:00PM. The interment will be at Post Oak Cemetery in Oglesby, Texas.
Bertice was born to Grundy and Lela Galloway Ross of Oglesby Texas on February 13th, 1926. He was raised on his parent’s farm and attended school in Oglesby, Texas. After graduating high school he joined the Navy during the Korean War. After a two year tour in the Navy, Bertice married Wanda Lee Smallwood on April 11th, 1947. They lived in Waco for a short time and then moved to the Houston area.
After his father’s death in 1962, Bertice and Wanda moved back to Oglesby. He worked at Rocketdyne until 1973 when they moved back to the Houston area where he worked in chemical plants until his retirement in 1988.
He loved working in his backyard workshop as well as their antique store in Livingston. Some of his other hobbies include painting countryside pictures and though he never played he enjoyed watching golf on television. He lived a very fulfilling life and loved that he was always surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed talking with people and telling stories of growing up on the farm and his time in the military.
Bertice is preceded in death by his wife Wanda of 63 years, his parents, his sister Anita Joy Evetts, his newborn son Ronald Carroll & his grandson Kristoffer Ross. He is survived by his son and wife, Joe and Linda Ross of McGregor, son and wife Jimmy and Darla Ross of San Leon, daughter and husband Linda and Gerald Gammel of Baytown, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
