Doris Amundson Olson

Doris Olson of McGregor died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the age of 83. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Pastor Walter Klockers officiating. Interment will follow in China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Cole Funeral Home.

Mrs. Olson was born December 20, 1929, in the Norse Community in Bosque County, Texas, the daughter of the late Axel Julius and Josehpine Matilda (Erickson) Amundson. She began her education in Norse, the Gap and was a 1947 graduate of Clifton High School. On December 20, 1947, she married Carl Vernon (C.V.) Olson in Norse, Texas. After sixty-three years of marriage he preceded her in death December 29, 2010.

She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norse where she was confirmed and baptized. In 1969, she moved to McGregor from De Soto. The McGregor homemaker enjoyed sewing, vegetable and flower gardening.

Also preceding her in death were five brothers and a sister.

Survivors include a son, Carl V. “Buddy” Olson, Jr. and wife Cindy of Belton; three daughters, Nancy Adam and husband Russell of Lorena, Karen Owen Watts and husband Gary of Hurst, Connie Langley and husband Ron of Cleburne; a brother, Glen Amundson and wife Fran of Clifton; eight grandchildren, Brian Owen, Jeremy Owen, Shawn Adam, Jeffrey Adam, Jennifer Sykora, Christie Hernandez, Melisa Alexander, Kyle McGonigal and numerous great grandchildren.

For those desiring, the family has suggested the Salvation Army of the donor’s own choosing for memorial contributions.
