

Dorothy “Dottie” McDonald, 86, of McGregor, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 13, Turning Point Assembly of God, Waco, with Pastor Thomas Hale officiating. Interment follows in McGregor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, September 12, Cole Funeral Home, McGregor.
Dottie was born on March 16, 1930, to William S. Weeks and Martha Jane Shellnut Weeks, in Wanette, Oklahoma. She married D.W. McDonald on March 11, 1950, and became a McGregor resident in 1970. She was a founding member of Calvary Assembly of God, Waco, since 1954, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir. Dottie worked for M & M Mars for 17 years and after retiring became a secretary at Calvary Assembly of God. She loved cooking, her grandchildren, and visiting, which was a sport to her.
Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jack; four sisters; three brothers; daughter-in-law, Karen Kay McDonald; and great-granddaughter, Brittany Stevenson.
Survivors include sons, Mike and wife, Joye, McGregor, son Bob and wife, Sherri, Robinson, Bill, Speegleville; daughter-in-law Chyrll, Whitney, grandchildren, Kevin McDonald and wife, Erica, Brittani Marshall and husband, Jason, Cheyenne McDonald, Robin Blankenstein, Amanda McKelvain, Hillary McDonald, Dylan McDonald, Hannah McDonald, and Sarah McDonald; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jimmy Weeks and wife, Audrey, Clermont, Florida, and Wayne Weeks and wife, Martha, Hamilton, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.
