

Elmor Buth of Crawford died late Saturday afternoon, August 14, 2010, in McGregor at the age of 92. Graveside services and interment will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at St Paul Memorial Park under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Pastor Tom Beers officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Cole Funeral Home.
Mr. Buth was born September 12, 1917, in Coryell City, Texas, the son of the late Otto and Matilda Hulda (Mueller) Buth where he attended school. On September 4, 1940, he married Myrtle Beatrice Westerfield in Coryell City. After sixty-five years of marriage, she preceded him in death November 23, 2005. In 1947, he moved to Crawford from Coryell City. Much of his life was devoted to farming in the Crawford area. For twenty years, he was employed by McLennan County as a heavy equipment operator prior to his 1979 retirement. Throughout the years, he was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where, for many years, he and Myrtle served the church as custodians. He enjoyed farming, playing dominos and woodworking.
Also preceding him in death was a brother Raymond Buth, three sisters, Arnell Streumpler, Laverne Krempin and Winnie Buth.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Buth of McGregor, Doug Buth of Crawford, Pat Buth of Speegleville; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
