

Heather Alton of Moody died Sunday, December 1, 2013, at the age of 33. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Cole Chapel, 304 Eighth Street, Moody. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church of Moody with Brother Billy Pedigo and Ronnie Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in Moody Cemetery.
Heather was born July 21, 1980, in Temple, Texas. In 1998 she graduated from Moody High School where she was a member of the Bearcat Band where she played Flute and was Drum Major. She was also a member of the Beta Club. She continued her education at Temple Junior College where she earned an associates degree.
Much of her life has been spent in the sales industry. More recently, she was employed by Exciting Lighting in Temple and for the last four and half years with Amos Electric in Temple.
Preceding her in death were her paternal grandfather, Harold Ray Alton and her maternal grandfather, Frank D. Herod, Jr.
She met Kevin McCaig and they have been together since March 2, 2011, in Moody. Other survivors include her parents, Gary and Beth Alton of Moody; a daughter, Bailey Mae McCaig of Moody; a step-son, Kooper Wayne McCaig of Robinson; a brother, Jared Alton and wife Sarah of Moody; Paternal grandmother, Jo Marie Alton of Moody; Maternal grandmother, Bettie Herod of Barry; nephew, Cole Alton of Moody and a niece, Rachel Alton of Moody.
For those desiring, the family has suggested the Moody Volunteer Fire Department for memorial contributions.
