Herbert Leon Snider

Mr. Herbert Leon Snider, age 82, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 at his residence with his family at his side. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 6-8 p.m. at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 10 a.m. at Cole Funeral Home Chapel in McGregor with Rev. Jack Husung officiating. Interment will follow in the McGregor Cemetery.

Herbert was born February 28, 1933 to Jess and Gertrude (Manos) Snider in Jonesboro, Texas.

He was a longtime resident of McGregor and a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 30 years. Herbert worked as a milk delivery driver for Pure Milk Company and served families in McGregor for many years. He also served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. Mr. Snider was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time outdoors.

Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Gertrude Snider; wife, Juanita Snider; granddaughter, Brandie Svacina; sister, Lorene Bragwitz; brothers, Curtis Snider and Otha Snider.

He leaves behind his daughters, Brenda Urban of Converse, and Cathy Lynn Svacina of McGregor; grandchildren, Brittnie Svacina of Hubbard, Justin Hutchins of Hewitt and Regan Aldridge of McGregor, Kristy Kay Donaho of Cibolo, Karen Marie Urban of News Braunfels and Kelly Rene Silvers and husband, Eric of Cibolo; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Julia Mae Wricker of Gatesville and Laura Leach and husband, Sammy of Clifton; sister-in-law, Betty Snider of San Angelo; brothers, Jay Snider and wife, Dannie of Turnersville, and Allen Snider and wife, Juanita of Fort Worth.

Pallbearer: Tim Lockhart, Eric Silver, Dustin Lumpkin, James Thatcher, Michael Williams and Archie Donaho.
