Jesse Clifford Smith

Funeral Services were held 10:00a.m., August 25, 2015 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel. Burial Followed in McGregor Cemetery.

Jesse was born November 17, 1927 in McGregor, Texas to Ed and Bessie (Prock) Smith. He attended schools in McGregor. October 20, 1947 he married the love of his life, Cena Ellen Gober, in Waco, Texas. Jesse worked for the McGregor ISD and also worked for the Equipment Manufacturing Company in Waco. He worked several years for the City of McGregor laying many of the pipe lines that are running through the city today. After retirement he worked for the Senior Citizens Center for many years preparing meals and assisting with the other duties needed.

Jesse will be remembered for is jovial sense of humor. He served the Lord for many years. Jesse wasn’t a perfect person, but was a perfect daddy to his kids. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings.

Survivors include his wife of over 67 years, Cena Smith; children, Mary Foster and husband Jim and Clifford Smith and wife Darlene; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Ruth Duncan and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
