Jimmy R. Diaz Sr

Jimmy R. Diaz, Sr., 65, of McGregor, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Austin. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Saint Eugene Catholic Church with Father Boniface Onjefu as celebrant. Interment will follow in Eddy Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, at Cole Funeral Home. A Rosary will follow the visitation recited by Deacon Victor Beltran.

Mr. Diaz was born on January 7, 1949 in McGregor, Texas to Benjamin and Margarita (Gonzales) Diaz. He married Margie DeLeon on November 25, 1967 in McGregor and they celebrated over 46 wonderful years together. Mr. Diaz loved playing the Lotto, hunting and the Dallas Cowboys but his true love was spending time with his grandkids. He was a member of Saint Eugene Catholic Church. His parents and his mother and father-in-law; Manuel and Manuela DeLeon preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife; Margie Diaz, sons; Jimmy Diaz Jr., and Michael Paul Diaz and his wife, Shea, daughter; Monica Diaz Thomas and her husband, Steve, 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 6 brothers, 5 sisters and a special niece, Florence Wagner.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Thomas, Jr. Robert Thomas, IV, Zachary Thomas, Dustin Diaz, Kevin Thomas, Brian Diaz, Jeremy Diaz, Damian Diaz, Rene Perez, Elias Perez, and Branson Hodges.
