Sonny was born February 20, 1948, in Austin, Texas, the son of the late Carlton Leroy and Catherine Swenson where he graduated from high school in 1966. Following his graduation, he served his country in the United States Marines. On April 1, 1982, he married the former Barbara Adam in Austin and moved to McGregor in 2012. Much of his life was spent as a truck driver, more recently for Garrett Construction Company in Ingleside. In his spare time he enjoyed riding Harley-Davidsons Motorcycles, fishing and Keeping up with historical events.
Survivors include his wife Barbara; five sons, Bryant Polston and wife Robin of Webberville, Barry Polston and Dennis Polston and wife Bethany all of Canterbury, New Hampshire, Billy Sublette of Eagan, Minnesota, Michael Sublette of Portland; a daughter, Rhonda Fish of Aransas Pass; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
