

Rita Faye (Anderson) Manske, 75, of McGregor passed away Friday evening, July 30, 2010. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 S. Tyler Street, McGregor, with Pastor Walter Klockers officiating. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Cole Funeral Home.
Rita was born August 28, 1934, in Oglesby, Texas, the daughter of the late Garland Newton and Vivian (Ross) Anderson. At an early age, she moved to McGregor where she was a 1952 graduate of McGregor High School. She continued her education at Baylor University where she earned a B.B.A. degree in 1955. Over a twenty year career, she taught business subjects at Midway, Crawford, McGregor, and Jonesboro ISD’s and was a Vocational Office Education Coordinator for Gatesville ISD. Rita was a past member of Temple Porcelain Art Guild, holding numerous offices. She was an avid china painter and studied under many renowned china painters.
At an early age, Rita was baptized at First Baptist Church of McGregor and became an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor in 1989 where she was a member of the Esther Circle.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Lloyd Anderson.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, Eugene C. Manske; two daughters, Gwendolyn Anne Manske of McAllen, Melanie Tidwell and husband Chuck of Corsicana; two granddaughters, Heather Pittman and husband Jamie of Ft. Myers, Florida, Tara Tidwell of Corsicana; a grandson, Ty Tidwell of Corsicana; one great granddaughter, Heidi Cay Pittman of t. Myers, Florida; a brother, Frank Anderson of McGregor; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Manske of Waco; and nieces Sharon Wolfe of Lorena and Diane York of Austin.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the wonderful people of Wesley Woods Alzheimer’s Care Center for their excellent care and compassion these past three and a half years and also to the caring people of Providence Hospice. For without your assistance, Rita would not have received the care she deserved.
