Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at Moody Cemetery with Mike Perryman officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Cole Chapel, 304 Eighth Street, Moody.
Lad, as she was affectionately called, was born March 25, 1928, in the Liberty Hill Community of McLennan County, Texas, the daughter of the late Claude Orestus and Thyra Violet (Lynch) Coulter. She was a 1945 graduate of Bruceville-Eddy High School and began her career in banking at First National Bank of Moody. With this being the only employment she had, she dedicated herself for a forty-four year tenure before retiring in 1988 as Vice-President.
On May 3, 1958, she married Ernest Corbitt in Belton, Texas. Together, they had a wonderful life filled with world travels and trips all over the United States to Marine reunions. They enjoyed boating on the Gulf and entertaining family on the barge at Lake Belton. Lad enjoyed reading, her dogs and cats and doing the daily crossword puzzles.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Orestus Culter and a sister, Mary Hatter.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, Ernest Corbitt, a sister Martha Perryman; a neice Mary Sue Duty who was also her special caregiver as well as many nieces and nephews.
For those desiring, the family has suggested Moody Community Library, P.O. Box 57, Moody, Texas 76557 or Moody EMS, P.O. Box 68, Moody, Texas 76557 for memorial contributions.
