Barbara was born in King George County where she spent a happy childhood fishing, swimming, and enjoying a simple country life with her four siblings and parents. As an adult, she cherished her family as a dedicated homemaker. Dancing was Barbara’s passion. She enjoyed spending Friday nights with her friends at the local Moose Lodge. She also performed in the dance troupe CHEER that visited area nursing homes and escorted Santa at the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the Jefferson Hotel. Barbara was a long-time member of Cool Spring Baptist Church where she volunteered at the Recreation Center. She strongly believed in civic engagement, working on several political campaigns and serving as a poll worker. She was preceded in death by her son, Barry, and is survived by her children, Clifton (Bonnie) and Diane (Stephen), and grandchildren, Ashley and Peyton.
