Dewitt Taylor, 73, of Mechanicsville, Va., passed away January 13, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois M. Taylor; and a sister, Mary Sue Ellinger. He is survived by six children, Norma Jean Setzer of Honaker, Va., Roger Dallas Taylor, Frances Ellen Demasters, both of Glen Allen, Va., Raymond Douglas Taylor of Mechanicsville, Rodney David Taylor of Sandston, Va., and Keri Suzanne Way of Mount Carmel, Tenn.; four sisters, Ettie P. Peters, Barbara Starkes, both of Verona, Va., Irene B. Howdyshell, Donna Campbell, both of Churchville, Va., one brother, Chester Taylor of Lincolnton, Ga.; nine grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren. Dewitt retired from Reynolds Metals Company after 20 plus years of service. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Mechanicsville Baptist Church, where he was an active member. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park.
