of Mechanicsville, retired employee of VDOT, went to be with the Lord October 16, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leslie F. Layne Jr.; son, Leslie F. Layne III and his wife, Joy; daughter, Susan Castillo and her husband, Steve; four grandchildren, Matthew and Kevin Layne, Shawn and Shannon Castillo; four great-grandchildren, Juliana, Brendan, Kaden and Cooper; sister, LaVerne Kingsbury. Mrs. Layne will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. She was a 40 year member of North Minster Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., where services will be held 11 a.m. Friday.
