

Edward Lee Walker, Sr., 88, from Mechanicsville, VA. passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buell D. Walker (Dick) and Rena Bradley Walker. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Joyce Titmus Walker, his children Sharon Walker, Debbi Marks (Steve) and Edward Lee Walker, Jr., (Donna). He also leaves behind his grandchildren Stephen, Jake (Bridget) and Kendall Walker.
Ed spent his entire career working in the steel industry. He worked as a project manager overseeing steel construction for numerous projects in Virginia. Throughout his career he worked for Virginia Steel, Bristol Steel, Holmes Steel, and Mack's Iron. Ed retired February 1, 2019 from Hermitage Steel at the age of 84. He will be remembered for the passion he had for his work projects, but most importantly, the joy he had for the people that worked with him.
He also enjoyed boating with his family, camping with his friends and NASCAR. He loved being with his family and caring for his pets.
He was a past Worshipful Master of the Tuckahoe Masonic Lodge No. 347. He received the Highest Masonic Honor of being a 50 year mason.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 2 - 6 p.m. at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Road in Mechanicsville, VA. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd, Hanover VA 23069.
