Michael Brent Bykowski

Michael B. “Brent” Bykowski, went home to our Lord on May 9, 2019. He was born to Normalee and Michael Bykowski (both deceased) on February 3, 1962, in Colorado and grew up in Irvington, New York. Brent graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, where he met the love of his life, Sherrie. Together, they made a life for themselves in Mechanicsville, raising two amazing daughters. Brent will always be remembered as a friendly, loving and generous man whose fun-loving spirit and sense of humor was appreciated by so many. He deeply adored his family and friends and never met a stranger. Some of his greatest joys were cycling, playing tennis and cheering on Hokie football as well as the New York Mets and Jets. Brent’s memory will be honored and cherished forever by his wife, Sherrie; daughters, Lauren and Ashley; brother, Bruce; sister-in-law, Amy; furry buddy, Kramer; and by his many friends. A celebration of Brent’s life will be held at Burkwood Swim & Racquet Club on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. with a time of fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Central Virginia Food Bank, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, American Red Cross or a charity of your choice.
