My favorite memories with "Aunt Shone" are when she would babysit my sisters and I. She would open up our sleep sofa for a pajama party. She would always make us homemade nachos by using lays original potato chips and sliced American cheese, melting the cheese in the microwave. That was my favorite snack!

She will truly be missed. She was a very fun and loving person!

Michelle or “Aunt Shone” as we called her was an incredible woman who was an important part of our family. My favorite memory of her was all of our childhood sleepovers with her, especially when she was living in Aylett right next to the Tasty Freeze and we would walk over for ice cream before going to bed. As an adult she would always check in on me to see how life was going and just to tell me she loved me, she will be missed more than words can say.

“Aunt Shone” as we always called her was what we knew as the fun on! She was always doing fun things with us and taking us on adventures! One time she was with us when my parents were out of town, she took me to get my ears pierced, and my parents had no idea until they came home! Furthermore, just as a funny memory I always thought she was rich because the bank she used had an ATM inside of a Glass box building and it was the coolest thing ever! I am so thankful we reconnected in my adult years and got to know her family. She was so loved and is so very missed!

I wrote this this on the way to the grocery. That's when we got a chance to talk for hours. As I'm sure you can guess, I did this last minute. It's Saturday, and you already know what it's like playing Dallas this week :P. Today, you already know.  As I drive to the store, it all hits me again. I can't call you:(.  This is hard. It's been at least 10 years since we first met. You were my bestie, my buddy, my counselor, my therapist, but most of all, you were my friend, and those don't come easy. The conversations the laughs until we cried the wisdom. You were my smartest friend, which I know you loved it when I said that, but it's true. I'm going thru it. There is a hole in my heart that will never be filled. I'm going to miss you, Buddy. I will be talking to you real soon.

There are no words to describe the sadness we are all feeling from the loss of such an amazing person. Michele strove to make sure I felt welcomed and included from the first time I met her. Our random chats about everything from our silly dogs' antics to the crazy crime shows that were on will always be remembered. I should have had so much more time to know her, but her humor, intelligence, and kindness were always apparent. I love her and I will miss her terribly.

I’ll miss her caring spirit, her sense of humor, her devotion to her family, and her Sage advice that’s kept us going through the years. I will love you always.

You are my best friend, hero, and heart. I will always love you. You will always be with me. There are not enough words to express what you mean to me. I love you to the moon and back.

She was so proud of her kids, we often talked about how lucky we were to have gotten the kids we got. I see a lot of her in both of them. She was a great Mom, always checking in to make sure her kids had what they needed and were well taken care of. I was tickled to be able to watch Jaime walk the stage when she graduated high school.
My only problem now is how do I go on without her? She was the sister I got to choose and you just don't find those every day. She was smart, funny, kind, and a loyal friend who I will miss for the rest of my life. If I know one thing, though, I know when I pass she will be there to greet me, with an excited smile and a "this is the deal". Until the next life, my sister, you made this one so much better just by being you!

I was lucky enough to know Michele for over 30 years. From the young, fresh faced girl I met in 1991 to the last time I talked to her, this amazing, loyal woman was always on my side and in my corner. I knew that any secret I shared would be safe for life, and that I would take anything she told me to the grave. We would have marathon phone calls every Friday or Saturday (sometimes both!), for us to talk for 2 or 2 1/2 hours was not unusual. Our families always knew if we were on the phone awhile, we were probably talking to each other.
Michele always showed up for the big events, no matter how bad she was feeling. Whether a birthday party, a shower, or decorating for Christmas, she was always there with a joke and a smile. She was the Maid of Honor at my wedding, we were almost late coming back from getting our hair done. This was 1993, our hair was teased so high you could put your whole hand in it!
She taught me a lot about grace and how to act when you are feeling bad, her joints and head could be aching but I NEVER heard her complain. She made me laugh harder than anyone else I've ever met, she was so funny and had the same sense of humor I did.
We were able to see Stephen King in person not once but twice. Getting lost in DC on the second trip was a hassle but we laughed and joked our way through it. Who knew DC was divided into quadrants and it was miles from east to west of the same street? Not us, apparently, but we made it just in time. I know that her signed Stephen King books were among her most precious possessions, and I am proud to have accompanied her on the quest to get one of them. He has a new novel coming out in May that she will never get to read, I am going to miss talking with her about it when it comes out.

Michele Pirie,
I met Michele in the fourth grade, and we quickly became best friends, lifelong friends.
We drove teachers crazy when we were in classes together, talking, and passing notes, especially Mr. Sorentino Eighth grade history.
You are the only reason I passed high school chemistry! 
We were together for new loves and heartbreaks! RIP pitfall Harry. You were my maid of honor. You were so special to me, like a sister. 
I think my favorite memories were us driving around in your IROC – Z. I still can’t believe you let me drive that car.
You were a wonderful friend and beautiful person inside and out. I will miss you every day! (Especially August 8)

Michele welcomed me into her open arms from the moment we met. She always made me feel loved in the way only mom’s can. I’m so thankful for all the hours. We lost track of talking and laughing.

Michele was one of my closest and dearest friends.   Feel this loss very deeply as we shared so many experiences.   Deepest condolences to her loving family.
