

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oley and Dorothy Griffith; her husband of 52 years, Dr. Julian Ashley Grigg, Jr.; her sister, Alice Anne Griffith Adams; brother-in-law, Charles Adams; and niece, Kelley Adams Winn.
Nedra leaves a legacy of love, faith and strength with her son, Chip Grigg (Valerie); daughter Jayne Anne Grigg; grandson, Marc Grigg (fiancée Kelsie); sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Grigg, Carolee Grigg and Eleanor Grigg; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; special cousin, JoAnn Woodyard; a church family and many friends.
Nedra was born in Cedarville, West Virginia and earned her undergraduate degree in Home Economics and Education from Glenville State College, and her Master's degree in Education from West Virginia University and Marshall University. She taught English and Business Education at Spencer High School in Spencer, West Virginia and Business Education at Capital City Business College in Charleston, West Virginia.
Nedra was a member of Pilot Club International and 4-H. She was very active in the Brownies, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts chapters, as well as school PTA and school volunteer activities. She was a devoted member of Chamberlayne Heights United Methodist Church.
A woman of unwavering faith, Nedra was the heart of her family, and the embodiment of genuine, selfless love and grace. She had a special way of bringing out the very best in everyone she knew. A true renaissance woman, she had innumerable talents and a very creative and artistic personality. She was an extremely gifted writer, and everyone's editor of choice. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, ceramics, floral design, needlepoint, entertaining and traveling, and was an expert in genealogical research. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A private graveside service will take place at the family cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Chamberlayne Heights United Methodist Church, 6100 Chamberlayne Road, Richmond VA. 23227.
