Paul, one of ten children, was born in Richmond, VA. on March 24, 1943, to Wiley and Ethel McNally. He grew up in Richmond and following graduation from Highland Springs High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served the country that he loved. Once Paul became a homeowner, he proudly displayed the American flag in his back yard each day in honor of his country. “God Bless America” was always a favorite hymn of his.
In 1967, Paul married Linda and together they were blessed with the beautiful joys of their lives, three amazing children, Donna Wright (Wayne); Tracie Bahen (David); and Paul, Jr. (Angela). In addition, Paul was the proud grandfather of six precious grandchildren, Carrie Wade (who lives in Heaven); Sheila Morano (Charlie); Brandon Wright (Kristen); Taylor Bahen(fiance Tanner Glasgow); Trevor Bahen (his girlfriend, Kaci Price); Paul McNally III; and Jack McNally. He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren, Brook and C.J. Morano; Timothy Mullinax; Braelynn Wright; and soon to be born, baby Emma Grace Wright.
Paul retired from VA Dominion Power in 1998 after many years of dedicated employment and then worked for Hanover Carpet in Mechanicsville for five years. He spent all his spare time gardening and beautifying his yard. Everyone who knew Paul knew that cutting grass, gardening, planting flowers, and yard work were a true love of his heart. It was important to him for his home to be kept well-maintained and pristine inside and well-manicured outside. The grass had to be cut exactly four inches in the front and three inches in the back, to his complete satisfaction. We can just see Paul now on the riding mower in Heaven cutting the grass exactly four inches in the front and three in the back.
Visitation for Paul will be held at Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd, Mechanicsville, VA. 23116 on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., where a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 12 p.m. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
The family would like to express grateful appreciation to Davita Dialysis Center on Atlee Road, Mechanicsville, and to committed friends, Pastor Glen Bohannon, Mary and Earl Williams, Anne Korman, Jack Kirby and Pat Atkins for their genuine hearts of unwavering care and concern for Paul during his years of illness.
