Dr. Michael McDonald, 63, a professor at VCU, transitioned from this life on November 30, 2011. He is survived by his wife Donna Boone, his children; Patrick McDonald, Kelly McDonald Croucher, Dana Towberman Gaskin, and David Towberman, granchildren; Charlotte Croucher, Madelaine, Alex, Gavin, Sean and Ryan McDonald, Andrew, Tyler and Addison Gaskin, two brothers; Jack McDonald and Tony McDonald, and sister; Nancy Hance.
Michael has been a professor at VCU since 1972 and was still teaching in the School of Business Department when he died. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 4, from 6 to 8pm, at the Atlee Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, Route 301 and Shady Grove Rd, Mechanicsville. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 5, at 10am. Interment Private. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in his honor.
