I worked with Roy at the Atlee VDOT office between 1977 and 1979 and will always remember him as being a kind man with a great sense of humor!  He was a very hard worker and taught me as an 18 year old how to operate equipment associated with our job.  I credit Roy with me being able to run a chain saw without me cutting my leg off!

Roy, you were very influential in teaching solid work ethics to me and I have thought of you often.  Your mentoring me during my young years has made me a better person.  Thank you and God Bless you my friend.

I met Roy when I was a very young girl and my family and I attended Lincoln Park Church. Roy always had a smile and was always happy to see me. I believe that Roy Weaver made this world a better place. There is some peace knowing that he has been healed and is in Heaven with our almighty God.  He will be missed, my thoughts and prayers are with all who are saddened and hurting because of his passing. May God give you peace and strength. 

It was so sad to hear of Roy's passing.  I remember Roy as being blessed with a green thumb.  He always had fresh vegetables in his garden.
 
When I was a little girl, we would visit his family in Nutbush, and he and his brothers loved to tease me by always reminding me of where all of the food came from.  They would wait until we got there to chop the head off of the chicken which would be our lunch.  When it was time to eat, I seemed to have lost my appetite!  They called me a little "city girl," but I lived in Hanover County, which was hardly a city at that time.  I also have good memories of our visits because those same brothers would take me for a ride on a motorcycle, and that was the highlight of my trip to Nutbush.

My thoughts and prayers are with Roy's friends and family at this sad time.  He will be missed.

I meant to say "maternal grandfather."  I sure do miss you, Roy.  You were one in twelve million.

I have known Roy since I was a small child.  I consider him my paternal grandfather.  Roy was always, kind, clever, hardworking, and good.  He could make anything grow.  He nurtured plants the way that I have never seen anyone do.  He nurtured people too.  

Roy was a natural story-teller, and one to socialize.  He is someone that I was always happy to see.  I miss Roy, and will always cherish my memories of him, and can see him now, pulling back his cap, and then readjusting it.  I love you Roy.

As a child and an adult I loved seeing and being with Uncle Roy.
 He always made me feel welcomed to come by and share a laugh. His love of gardening  and animals are cherished memories. You will be missed but never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Fauna Weaver; wife of 38 years, Mildred Edmonds Weaver; and brothers, Robert, Ray, and Herman Weaver.  Left to cherish his memory are his beloved companion, Lois J. Link; children, Bart Edmonds (Janie), Bill Edmonds (Betty), and Carolyn Burroughs; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
