She is survived by her husband, Jack Bently Lawson; children, Joe Lawson (Karen), Sharon Wright (Danny), and Bonnie Wood (Paul); seven grandchildren, Angela Lawson (Peter), Brian Lawson (Charil), Scott Poindexter (Jess), Justin Wood (Bonnie), Devon Drumm, Dana Robinson (Nate), and Dayley Taylor (Joe); a sister, Martha (Sue) Longworth; a brother Tommy Atkinson (Angie); and a host of nieces and nephews that she adored as if her own. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mildred (Billie) Perkins.
She loved growing up in rural Mechanicsville with her aunts, uncles and cousins and often spoke fondly of her childhood. Her hobbies included traveling, antiquing, craft painting and visiting casinos. She will be dearly missed by those that know and love her.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23116.
