
Carolyn Jean “Crank” Lamb passed away on February 17, 2015, in Medford, OR with her family by her side. She was 85. Carolyn was born on March, 26, 1929 in Fortuna, CA to William D. and Mable C. (Johnston) Crank. She graduated from Fortuna Union High School in 1947, there she meet her high school sweetheart Richard H. Lamb and on June 13, 1948 they were married. They spent 64 years together and made their homes in Fortuna, CA, Fremont, CA were Carolyn worked for General Motors Corp. as an accountant. They moved to Livermore, CA in the 70’s when Richard was given a promotion. After retirement she and Richard purchased a fifth wheel and enjoyed traveling. They eventually moved to Brookings, OR in 1995 where they built their dream home. She and Dick enjoyed their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved taking them to the ocean and river to play. She loved hosting tea parties for her grandchildren and their friends. She loved her neighbors and thought of them as her own. Her children remember Carolyn as a kind, loving and a giving mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. She loved to throw parties and we will always remember all the birthday cakes she made from scratch into all of our favorite characters. Carolyn was accomplished at decorating, sewing, gardening and cooking. She was a generous and devoted individual who loved her family. She was an active and dedicated member of the Presbyterian Church in Fremont, CA. She was a volunteer with the Brookings Harbor Garden Club and loved to share her flowers and food with them. Survivors include her son and daughter in law Richard D. and Carole Lamb of Fremont, CA; son D. Michael Lamb of Brookings, OR and daughter Rene’ and Michael Bruggeman of Brookings, OR; grandchildren Stephanie and David Minor of Los Angeles, CA; Allison Thacker of Brookings, OR and Rachel Lamb of San Francisco, CA; great grandchildren Auden and Nadjia Minor of Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband and her daughter Pamela. The family would like to thank everyone at Curry Good Samaritan for taking care of our mother and making her feel at home there. She so loved everyone at Good Sam.
