Eugene was born on February 19, 1935 in Minatare Nebraska to Julius Davis & Berta Cutburth. Growing up the oldest of three children, Eugene learned a strong work ethic and the value of family. He worked as a mill worker at Weyerhaeuser in Longview, Washington for many years.
Eugene Davis married Rose Mary Kusel May 28, 1958. The couple has four children: Edwin, Carol, Donald and Darrel. They lived in many places in the Pacific Northwest including Northern California, Longview Washington and Medford Oregon. He loved to take his family to the Oregon Coast where they spent many happy trips stopping at coastal towns crabbing, playing in the sand and visiting aquariums and attractions. He also made time while visiting the coast and they would end up putting a new clutch in his car. One of the most enjoyable trips for Eugene was a 2008 cruise to Mexico where he was able hold a baby donkey.
Eugene enjoyed woodworking, washing and polishing his car and watching westerns. His family will always remember him as a man who enjoyed looking out over the ocean for hours in the hopes of spotting a ship.
He is preceded in death by his loyal wife Rose Davis, his son Edwin Davis, his son Donald Davis, and his brother Marvin Davis.
Eugene is survived by his daughter Carol Davis and his son Darrel Davis. His eight grandchildren Berta, Robert, Duncan, DeJannel, Kirby, Ashley, Joshua and Kaytlin and seven great grandchildren.
We would like to thank Renee’s Adult family Care who provided care with understanding, patience and love. There will be a private service for the family at Logtown Cemetery in Jacksonville Oregon.
