She was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon and attended Klamath High School where she graduated. She moved to Medford, Oregon where she went to work at Mann’s Department store. While working there she met the love of her life, Ira. They married and honeymooned in Portland before settling in Medford.
She devoted her life to being a homemaker for her growing family while staying active in many different sports, like bowling and golf; where she and Ira were charter members of the Rogue Valley Country Club. She remained an active member in golf well into her 70’s along with other activities like pottery, arts and crafts, sewing. knitting, crocheting and gardening. She was an avid reader of all types of literature. She was well-informed and attentive to all currents events. She loved playing games, cards, dice, Bunco and even bowled a 300 game in Wii well into her 90’s!
She was a woman of many talents, but her greatest was her support for her family. She was sure to attend every activity that her children and grandchildren were involved in and was always their biggest fan from grade school through college.
For 101 years and up to her dying day she had beauty, grace, love, kindness and joy to share with all who were blessed to meet her. Her competitive nature kept her involved and interested in life, family and her friends. She was the most remarkable lady with none to compare. She will be missed by all but her sage advice and indomitable presence will be with us forever.
