Helen Altman Stillwell, 97, passed away on June 2, 2025 at Providence Medical Center, Medford, OR. She was born to Anthony and Eleanor Altman in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating from Little Flower High School in Philadelphia in 1945, Helen worked as a secretary finally settling with the National Park Service in Washington, DC. In 1960 she transferred to Lassen Volcanic National Park where she met Wallace Stillwell. They married in 1963 in Mineral, CA and raised their three children Lois, Jeanne and John in Red Bluff, CA.
Helen loved to travel and see new places. She was an avid quilter and reader. She and Wally created Pine Tree Pottery and in their VW van took pottery and kids to many craft fairs in the 1970s.
Helen was preceded in death by Wallace, her parents, sister Eleanor, brothers Edward, Joseph and Anthony.
She is survived by her sister Betty Ann Zelinsky, her children, daughter in law Megan, son in law Grant, grandchildren Noah, Kate and Patrick (Katrina) and two great-grandkids Aidan and Eleanor and eighteen nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held in her honor later this summer.
