Jacqueline Olive Wikstrom, “Jackie”, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her eight children, Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at the age of 86. She was born June 7, 1932, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Richard Carroll Wedge and Helen Edith Randall. She graduated from East High School in Sioux City in 1950. She was united in marriage to Alfred Raymond Wikstrom on June 16, 1950. While raising her eight children, she enjoyed hobbies such as flower arranging, quilting, cake decorating and catering.
Alfred passed away in 1976 at the age of 48. In 1995, Jackie moved from Iowa to California to care for her grandson and later her mother. While in San Diego, she participated in The Wil-Mat Project in support of the homeless. In 2014 she moved from San Diego, CA to Central Point, OR to be near her oldest son and family. She transferred her membership in the United Methodist Church to the First United Methodist Church in Medford. She was active in Hope Circle. She made many Prayer Squares for the congregation and made Plarn for the sleeping mats for the homeless.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, grandchildren Brittany and Amy and nephew Thomas. Jaqueline is survived her siblings Richard Wedge and wife, Yoshiko, of George Wedge, all of San Diego, CA, Evelyn Haugen and Susan Stevens and husband Dick of Sioux, City, IA, children Ken Wikstrom and wife Linda, of Central Point, OR, Dan Wikstrom of Sioux City, IA., C. William Wikstrom of Kent, WA, Jim Wikstrom and wife Twila of Sioux City, IA, Kelly Wikstrom, Jennifer Wikstrom, Kathryn Wikstrom and Clayton Wikstrom, all of Central Point, OR, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at 3:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Medford. Pastor Linda Tucker officiating.
