
Jim was born September 18th 1951 in Medford Oregon to Donald and Barbara Lewis. Upon completion of high school at Phoenix High he joined the U.S. Army in 1969 where he honorably completed one tour in Vietnam as an Army Ranger. Following his time in the Army he worked as a Crane Operator, EMT, Firefighter and Log Truck Driver.
Jim Lewis married Diane Workman in September 1973 and they had three boys. They all were student athletes and grew into great men working a number of various jobs across the United States and abroad.
Upon his retirement in 2012 Jim and Diane spent their time camping, fishing and mushroom hunting as well as entertaining their two grandchildren. Jim will always be remembered for his interesting outlook on life and his great sense of humor, always able to find the humor in every situation.
Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years Diane, three sons William, Robert and Samuel.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring at Jim’s favorite camping spot with reception to immediately follow, this will be a byob event.
Jim’s family would like to thank the Asante hospice nursing team at Rogue Valley Medical Center where they made him comfortable until the end.
