Kathleen (Kat) was born October 2, 1980, in Pittsburgh, PA, and graduated from Peters Township High School in 1998. She played flute and piccolo in the PT Marching Band.
Kathleen attended Penn State University and graduated from UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing in Pittsburgh in 2007. She started her nursing career at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, then moved to Eureka, CA, where she practiced nursing until 2024, when she moved to Medford, OR.
In Eureka, she and Jake Zukowski got engaged and lived in Eureka for 20 years, enjoying many Phish concerts and their dogs Corrina, Reuben, Otis, and Arlo.
Kathleen was predeceased by long-time partner Jake Zukowski, several friends, two aunts and one uncle, and is survived by her parents, Don and Nancy (Wolfensperger) Kost, aunts Ellen (Mike) Lindahl and Marthe (Nelson) Grove, and many loving cousins and relatives
