Larry Michael Walters, 69, passed away on April 28,2016 in Medford, Oregon. Larry was born in Los Angeles, CA to Milton and Geneva Walters. Larry graduated from Lakewood High School in 1965 and was voted Mr. Touchdown. He was also a member of the Somnus fraternity from 1963 to 1965. He attended Long Beach City College in 1965-1966 and from 1968-1969. Larry served two years in the United States Marine Corp. from 1966-1968 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant(E-5). Larry was hired by the Long Beach Police Department in 1970 and worked there until 1988. In 1988, Larry moved up to Southern Oregon and was hired by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office until he retired in 2002. In 1989, Larry received the Meritorious Service medal for helping rescue a Deputy that had been shot. Larry spent 32 years in Law Enforcement. Larry is survived by his Son Brad, Daughter-in-law Nicole, and Grandson Logan of Medford, Sister Linda of Santa Rosa, CA, and Brother Dale of Windsor, CA. A memorial for Larry will be held on June 25th, 1 P.M. at the Hampton Inn, 1122 Morrow Rd, Medford, Oregon.
