Born on April 20, 1938, in Fresno, CA, to Leonard Noel Murphy Sr. and Opal Josephine Murphy, Noel joined the US Air Force at 17. He served his country for four years as a helicopter mechanic in Reno, NV. Though proud of his military service, Noel's greatest passion was preaching the Gospel of Jesus.
In 1965, at 26, Noel received the gift of the Holy Ghost and soon after married Harva Jean Murphy. Together, they had two sons, Leslie Todd Murphy and Noel Shanon Murphy, five grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
In 1976, the Murphy family moved to Medford, OR, where Noel took over pastoral duties at Truth Tabernacle. He retired in 2009, with his son Leslie continuing his legacy as pastor.
A service to honor his life will be held at Truth Tabernacle, 2424 Delta Waters Rd., Medford, OR, on June 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
