She was able to survive cancer three times over the years, but the disease was finally able to overtake her after it metastasized to her brain. Mindy, along with family, accepted this as God’s plan for her and she was able to bravely refuse any further treatment for the disease. She left peacefully in her sleep with family by her side to help her join the angels that awaited her. Mindy was born to Don and Virginia Cohoon September 18th, 1959 in Santa Barbara, California. She had a kind, gentle heart that loved children and animals and worked several years in the Rogue Valley providing childcare to many. She served as a missionary to Japan for two years and served in church working in the nursery for many years. She is survived by her soulmate, Steve Sprinkle, who is known by many as Santa Claus. Mindy would often be by his side as Mrs. Claus during the holidays, bringing Christmas joy to the area children. Also surviving are her sons, Dustin and Jesse (Brooklyn) and the grandchildren she loved dearly; Shawn, Azaria and Sophia. She was an aunt to Michael, Daniel, Stephen, Melissa, Caitlyn and Brad. Mindy was preceded in death by her mom, Virginia Cohoon, and her dad, Don Cohoon still resides in the Rogue Valley along with her sisters, Carleen (Cohoon) Camden and Jill (Cohoon) Ganger. Brothers Mark and Damon Cohoon reside in Southern California.
We love you and will miss you daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandma, aunt and friend! We know for those that believe we will be reunited again in the presence of Jesus. It was your turn to go be with mom Mindy, so rest peacefully while waiting for us to join you.
