Ronald Keith Dixon (Dixie) passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the age of 86. We take comfort in knowing he is now resting in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. Born on September 14, 1939, in Raymond, Washington, Ron carried from his earliest days a gentle spirit, a sharp mind, and a heart devoted to family. His school years in Raymond gifted him with lifelong friendships that he treasured throughout his life.
Ron began his studies at the University of Washington in 1957 before moving with his family to Southern Oregon, where he worked beside his parents at their bowling alley, Roxy Ann Lanes. Ron was a scratch bowler and enjoyed bowling in a local league for most of his life. In 1965, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and bravely served his country in Vietnam from 1966–1967 as a Specialist 4th Class in communications and intelligence—a sacrifice and service his family will always honor with deep pride.
After returning home, Ron built a meaningful and fulfilling life in Medford, Oregon. He continued his education at Southern Oregon College (SOC), earning his master’s degree in accounting in 1970. He went on to enjoy a long and respected career as a CPA, beginning with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells and later as a partner at Kimball/Dixon, which became Kimball/Dixon/Hyatt & Yount and eventually merged with Moss Adams. Even after retiring in 2004, Ron’s expertise, patience, and steady guidance continued to bless his family, as he lovingly helped them navigate taxes and important decisions for many years. Community involvement meant a great deal to Ron, and he was honored to serve on the board and as a lifetime member for SOC, working alongside his good friend, Jim Wright, to help raise funds for the new sports stadium.
A gifted and passionate golfer, Ron joined the Rogue Valley Country Club in 1967 and found joy on its fairways for more than sixty years. He proudly served on the club’s board for many years as treasurer. In 1985, Ron married the love of his life, Donna, with whom they created a warm, loving, and welcoming family. That same year, they built their house on the golf course, a place filled with laughter, books, gatherings, and countless cherished memories. It remained Ron’s beloved home until his peaceful passing. An avid reader, Ron found great joy in books, reading widely and often throughout his life.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Virgie Dixon, and his daughter, Nicole Powell. He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna; his sister, Judy Dixon; his children Kevin Dixon (Karey), Todd Dixon (Diana), Tonya Dixon (Alex), and Neely Carlson (Erik); his sister-in-law, Diane Lannom; his seven grandchildren; his two great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
Ron will be remembered for his kindness, intelligence, unwavering work ethic, gentle humor, love of golf, and the deep, abiding love he held for his family and friends. His legacy will live on forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
A service will be held for Ron (Dixie) at the New Life Church of the Nazarene at 1974 E McAndrews Rd. Medford, OR on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ron’s beloved charitable organization, Tunnel 2 Towers (www.t2t.org).
